Supporting Learners

Global Convent is fortunate to have a constellation of talented, experienced, insightful educators working on behalf of each and every learner - and type of learner.  We invest in growing an understanding of our students' strengths, needs, passions, and worries. Our shared and long-standing commitment to a socio-emotional curriculum that is common across classrooms makes ours a place of predictability and the right amount, we believe, of structure. Creating a safe place for learning and being is a priority.

Ours is a school rich in diversity of language, with some of our students familiar with two, three or even four languages. Every year we happily welcome families with students with limited or no experience with the English language. Our classrooms are set up in ways that make that transition an easy one and our team of English Language Learning instructors support both student and teacher along the way.

A number of Global Convent students receive supporting services from our Special Education Team, strengthening expressive and receptive language skills, motor coordination, or a reading challenge. Global Convent has inculcated in its classroom an atmosphere where significant learning support needs of some children is given individualised care.

A full-time social worker and part-time school psychologist ensure the emotional wellbeing of our students, offering counselling and targeted support within the school day.
